Needle Directory is Needle’s curated catalog of SaaS and builder tools. It is built for evergreen discovery on Needle - not a clone of a daily launch leaderboard.
This guide explains what to expect when you submit, how moderation and verification work at a high level, and when your page can rank in search.
Start here
- Browse: useneedle.net/directory
- Submit: useneedle.net/directory/submit
You will go through owner flows: submit, edit, preview, verification, media uploads, and optional delisting if you need to pause.
What “published” means
A live public listing is the outcome of review, not instant publish. Admins can approve, reject, delist, or delete listings according to policy.
Delist is a soft action: the row may remain internally but with indexing_stage set to delisted and not indexable - so search engines should drop the public URL from the index over time.
Permanent delete removes the listing and related assets from storage - use when you truly want the product removed.
SEO and indexability (plain language)
Public product pages are only meant to be indexable when all of the following hold:
indexing_stage= publishedis_indexable= trueverification_status= verified
Sitemaps include directory URLs that meet these rules. If you are troubleshooting “why is my page not indexed,” check whether the listing is verified and published, and whether moderation applied a delist.
We do not promise specific third-party “DR” or ranking outcomes - quality listings + real product beat chasing metrics on paper.
How to improve approval odds
- Truthful positioning - Match the live product; avoid bait-and-switch URLs.
- Strong visuals - Logo + screenshots that show the actual UI.
- Stable URL - Prefer production, not a throwaway preview that expires.
- Category fit - Pick the closest honest category; reviewers correct mismatches.
- Respond in email - Owner notifications (e.g., published, rejected, verification issues) need a timely inbox.
Pair Directory with Needle search
Listing on Directory helps discovery on Needle. Social search helps you listen: Reddit threads, HN comments, PH feedback - so your Directory description and homepage use the same words buyers already use.
