Why an Airtable lead base should fill itself
Airtable is the default second brain for early-stage founders: customer lists, product feedback, competitor tracking - all in tidy bases with views and automations. The one part that is usually manual is the lead intake: someone finds a promising thread, copies the link, opens Airtable, and adds a row. Repeat fifty times and the process dies.
The fix is to make the intake automatic. Connect Needle to Airtable and every buyer-intent lead you surface in Search or Auto Search lands in your base - with the conversation link and intent score attached - while you keep your focus on the outreach.

Airtable lead base → your views, automations, and team
Step-by-step: connect Needle to Airtable
1. Create your lead-tracking base
Design a simple Airtable base with the fields you care about: prospect name, company, source URL, platform, intent score, status, notes. Keep it lean - you can enrich later.
2. Generate an Airtable token
Create a personal access token in your Airtable developer settings with write access to the base. This is the credential the integration uses - the same pattern as any Airtable automation.
3. Connect the integration
Open the Airtable integration page, authenticate with your token, and select the target base and table.
4. Map fields and enable the sync
Map the Needle lead fields to your Airtable columns (source URL, platform, intent score, and so on). Turn on the sync and new leads flow in as they surface.
5. Build your process on top
Now Airtable's superpowers kick in: a view filtered to "high intent, not contacted", an automation that pings your Slack channel when a hot lead arrives, or a weekly summary view for your team meeting.
Airtable base fields worth tracking
| Field | Why |
|---|---|
| Prospect / company | Who to reach out to |
| Source URL | The actual public conversation |
| Platform | Reddit vs HN vs GitHub - changes your reply style |
| Intent score | Rank your outreach queue |
| Status | New → Contacted → Replied → Won / Lost |
| Notes | What you said, what they said |
When this pays off
The Needle + Airtable workflow pays off the moment your leads outgrow a spreadsheet tab. Two signals tell you it is time:
- You are finding more good threads than you can log - that is the moment manual intake starts losing rows.
- You keep re-visiting the same communities - Auto Search plus Airtable turns that repeat work into a single automated pipeline.
Get started
If you already have an Airtable base for leads, connecting the Airtable integration takes minutes. If you are starting from scratch, build the base first (the five fields above are enough), then connect Needle and let the rows arrive.
