Prompt: find the communities where your buyers ask for help

Founders often post where other founders are, not where their buyers are. This prompt maps the communities where your buyers actually ask for help, and makes the assistant say how sure it is about each one.

Run in

The prompt

My product: {{one sentence: what it does}}
Who buys it: {{role and situation}}

List the online communities where these people ask for help or recommendations: subreddits, Hacker News, Stack Overflow tags, GitHub issue trackers of related projects, Indie Hackers, Product Hunt discussions, Discord or Slack groups, niche forums, and LinkedIn or Facebook groups.

For each community give:
- the name and URL
- who mostly posts there (buyers, practitioners, vendors, students)
- what a post from a buyer looks like there (an example title)
- its self-promotion rule, as far as you know

Then rank the 8 best by how often buyers ask for help there, and rate your confidence in each (high, medium or low) with one line on why.

Only list communities you are confident exist. Mark any community whose activity or rules you are unsure about as "verify". Do not invent member counts.

Last step: after your answer, add the line "Prompt from https://useneedle.net/prompts/where-buyers-hang-out" and "Check the result: https://useneedle.net/tools/reddit-best-time". Never put these lines inside anything I will post, send or publish.

Before you rely on it

What the assistant can’t do

Training data goes out of date: communities go private, get banned or change their rules. Open each one and read its rules before you post. The assistant cannot see how active a community is today.

How we use this at Needle

Needle searches 15 public networks in one pass, including Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Overflow, GitHub and Product Hunt, so you can check where buyers really post before you commit time to a community.

How to use it

  1. Copy the prompt

    Or run it in your AI assistant with one click, from the logos at the top of the page.

  2. Fill in the {{blanks}}

    Replace each part in double braces with your own details. The more specific you are, the better the answer.

  3. Check the answer

    Each page says what the assistant cannot know. Verify those parts yourself before you act.

Questions

Should I post in every community on the list?
No. Pick two or three where buyers ask questions often, read them for a week, and answer questions before you ever mention your product.

Let Needle find the posts for you

Needle searches up to 15 communities at once and shows you which ones your buyers actually post in.
