Affiliate Program

Earn recurring commission on every customer you refer to Needle: how to claim your link, how commission and payouts work, and common questions.

The Needle Affiliate Program pays you a recurring share of every payment made by customers you refer. Share your personal link; when someone signs up through it and becomes a paying customer, you earn commission on their invoices - not just the first one.

  1. Subscribe to any plan - the program is exclusive to active subscribers, which keeps it made up of people who genuinely use the product.
  2. Sign in and open the Affiliate program entry in your profile menu (or the Affiliate program card in Settings).
  3. Claim your link. Pick a custom code (e.g. useneedle.net/?via=yourname) or let us generate one from your profile. The code is fixed once claimed, so links you share keep working.
  4. Share it - newsletters, tutorials, community posts, DMs. A click is remembered for 60 days (with cookie consent).

How commission works

Rule Detail
Base A percentage of the pre-tax amount of every paid invoice from your referrals.
Recurring Repeats on every payment for a fixed window that starts at the customer's first paid invoice - not their signup. Monthly plans earn on every monthly invoice; there is no annual-only restriction.
Annual plans Commission applies to the full upfront annual charge - one payout instead of twelve smaller ones.
Trials Trial and verification charges never earn commission.
Attribution 60-day window from the click (with cookie consent); once they sign up, bound to the account - device switches after signup don't lose the referral.
Refunds & disputes Reversed. If already paid out, deducted from your future balance.

Getting paid

  1. Clearing: each commission sits in a 30-day holding window (shown in your portal) that covers refunds and card disputes.
  2. Monthly payout run: once cleared, your balance is included in the next monthly payout run as long as it reaches the payout minimum shown in your portal. In practice money arrives 30-45 days after the customer's payment - at most around 60 if the payment lands just after a batch closes. The 60-day attribution window is separate: it is how long a click stays credited to you, not a payout delay.
  3. Destination: set PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer details in your portal's payout settings - change them any time.

The affiliate portal shows clicks (total + last 30 days), signups, paying customers, commission clearing vs. ready for payout, lifetime paid out, and recent referral/commission activity - all in one place.

Open it from the profile menu → Affiliate program, or the Affiliate program card in Settings.

If your subscription ends

Your link stops crediting new referrals, but already-earned commissions are honoured and remain payable. Resubscribe whenever you like - your original code and link reactivate automatically.

Program rules

  • Self-referrals are blocked (including your own alternate accounts or payout email).
  • Paid ads on Needle trademarks or brand terms are not allowed and can void commissions.
  • Commissions are tied to genuine recommendations from real use - spam or misleading claims end participation.

Frequently asked questions

Who can join the Needle affiliate program?

The program is exclusive to active Needle subscribers. If you are on a paid plan or a paid plan's trial, you can claim your referral link immediately. Free-plan users see an upgrade prompt instead - subscribe to any plan to unlock the program.

How much can I earn?

You earn a percentage of the pre-tax amount on every paid invoice from customers you refer - monthly subscriptions earn on every monthly invoice, annual plans pay the percentage of the full annual charge upfront - recurring for a fixed window that starts at their first paid invoice. There is no cap on referrals. The current rate, window, and an earnings calculator are on the Affiliate Program page.

Do trials earn commission?

No. Trial and verification charges never earn commission - you are paid only once a referral becomes a paying customer. That also means a customer who churns during their trial never costs you anything, and your earning window starts at their first real payment.

How long does a click stay attributed to me?

60 days from the click, provided the visitor accepts optional cookies (without consent, it only counts if they sign up in the same visit). If they click several affiliate links, the latest one before signup counts. Once they create an account, the referral is bound to that account for good - sign up on a phone, upgrade on a laptop weeks later, and you are still credited.

When and how do I get paid?

Each commission clears for 30 days after the customer's payment (covering refunds and disputes), then pays out in the next monthly run once your cleared balance reaches the payout minimum. What happens if a referred customer is refunded?

The commission for that charge is reversed. If it was already paid out, the amount is deducted from your future balance. Lost card disputes work the same way.

What happens to my link if I cancel my subscription?

Can I refer myself or run ads on the Needle brand?

No. Self-referrals are blocked, and bidding on Needle trademarks or brand terms in paid ads is not allowed - either can void commissions and end your participation in the program.
