Who uses Forums?
SaaS buyers, integrators, and practitioners discussing workflows on public community forums (Growth and Scale plans).
Why it matters for customer discovery
- Buyers often research on a vendor’s community forum before they post on Reddit or HN.
- Integration and “how do I…” threads reveal switching intent and workflow pain early.
- Forums complement dev-centric networks with product-specific language from real customers.
Best for
- Alternatives and comparison threads
- Integration and API questions
- Product feedback and feature requests
- Competitor mentions in niche communities
Weak for
- Broad consumer viral trends
- Anonymous throwaway complaints without context
- Markets with no active public forum culture

Curated forum coverage
Forums is one network in Search - not a host picker. Each run queries a subset of our registry (50 public Discourse forums today). Growth searches the first 15 active hosts per run; Scale searches 30. Upgrading expands how many hosts each run includes, even before we add new forums to the registry. See Plans and limits for current caps.
Missing a forum you care about? Email support@useneedle.net with the forum URL - we can look at adding public Discourse communities when search is technically available.
Etiquette & gotchas
- Read each community’s guidelines before replying - forums are not lead lists.
- Help first; mention your product only when it genuinely fits the question.
